Meanwhile, his father, Aidas Buzelis, carved out a career as a professional basketball player, representing various clubs in the Lithuanian Basketball League. Following his playing days, Aidas transitioned into a role as a massage therapist for the Lithuania men’s national basketball team, further contributing to the sport at an elite level. Together, Matas’s parents have instilled in him a rich basketball heritage and a strong foundation for his own journey in the game.
Buzelis commenced his high school journey at Hinsdale Central High School, where he began showcasing his basketball prowess, initially playing for the sophomore team as a freshman.
