Whit Merrifield Career
Merrifield was chosen by the Kansas City Royals in the ninth round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft. After signing with the Royals, he played for the Burlington Bees in his first professional season.

Merrifield said on August 4, 2022, that he had received his vaccination and would be available to participate in the team’s first game in Toronto following his acquisition.
