Where to find Cyndaquil in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s Indigo Disk DLC

You can finally find and catch the Fire-type starter, Cyndaquil, in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet! The Indigo Disk DLC has made it possible to catch every starter Pokemon ever released, including this lovable Fire Mouse Pokemon from Generation 2.

But it’s quite likely that you’ve not seen Cyndaquil roaming about the Blueberry Academy’s Terarium yet, as there are a few steps you need to complete before you can add it to your team. Here’s everything you need to know to find, catch, and evolve Cyndaquil in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Indigo Disk expansion.

Where to find Cyndaquil in The Indigo Disk

If you want to find Cyndaquil, you’ll need to wrap up warm and head over to the Polar Biome in the Terarium. But it’s not quite as easy as putting on your snow boots and scarves.

You’ll first need to pay the Terarium Club 3,000 BP (Blueberry Points) to boost the Polar Biome biodiversity. You can do this by logging onto the PC in the top left of the League Club Room. It’s a lot of work, but you’ll also unlock Torchic, Chimchar, Piplup, Oshawott, and Scorbunny for your troubles.

Once you’ve ground out enough BP and donated the lot, you’ll need to head over to the wall between the Polar Biome and the Coastal Biome and look out for a little cave opening. Cyndaquil will only spawn in this precise location. If you’re struggling, check out the screenshot above for the precise location.

If you find the cave but still can’t find Cyndaquil, make sure you look down! This Fire Mouse Pokemon is very small and can be tricky to spot in the dim light of a cave. Its flame should be burning bright, so if you can’t find it, leave the cave, run a distance away, and then re-enter to respawn the wild Pokemon.

The completionists among us are probably proudly pointing to their 7-star Tera Raid Typhlosion and Hisuian Typhlosion right now. However, this is the first time you’ll be able to find Cyndaquil in the overworld, which is great for anyone who missed out.

How to evolve Cyndaquil into Quilava and Typhlosion

You can evolve Cyndaquil into Quilava once it reaches Level 14. Quilava will evolve into the fearsome Typhlosion at Level 36. An easy and quick way of levelling up is to use Exp. Candies or Rare Candies.

At the time of writing, there is no way to evolve your Cyndaquil into a Hisuian Typhlosion, as that regional variant is exclusive to Pokemon: Legends Arceus.

Are you planning to add Cyndaquil to your team in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet? Or are you on Team Chikorita or Team Totodile? No matter the starter you’re hunting for, we’ve got the guide for you at TRAN HUNG DAO School.
