In order to complete the lovey-dovey Pokemon side quest in the Scarlet & Violet, you just have to return to the couple in The Teal Mask’s Mossui Town, talk to them, and show them your Tandemaus either in your party or Boxes.
If you’re worried about accidentally giving away your Tandemaus, there’s no need to worry as this is only a show-and-tell needed to complete the quest. You won’t lose your Tandemaus in the process.

As a reward for showing them a lovey-dovey Pokemon that’s as “head over heels for each other like [they] are“, this Teal Mask side quest ends with the couple teaching you the Heart (Right) emote and Heart (Left) emote.
