This timer usually indicates the exact date a new season will be released and has been consistently accurate in the past. Not only that, August 8th is Tuesday and that’s the day of the week that Respawn usually releases its major content patches.
What’s coming in Apex Legends Season 18?
While it’s impossible to know exactly what Respawn has planned apex legends Season 18 is very early, there are a few key features that are guaranteed with every season.
Although Season 18 will most likely bring a new Legend to the table, it’s always possible that Respawn decides to replicate Season 16 again at some point and skip adding another face to the roster.

Apex Legends Season 18 Legend Leak: Conduit

As shown by Thordan Smash, it is believed that Conduit could be ‘Big Sis’, who is a powerful underlying character in the story. On top of this, we may have already seen ‘Big Sis’ in the trailer for Catalyst’s Stories from the Outlands, but under the name Margo. During a Season 15 press event, Respawn was asked if Margo was the big sister and they replied “no comment.”

- Passive: Capacitance – Conduit regenerates shield over a period of time and gains additional regeneration for each nearby ally.
- Tactical: Arc Flash – Conduit can heal the shields of selected nearby allies at the cost of some of his own.
- Ultimate: Alternating Current: Conduit launches a cluster bomb that damages his enemies’ shields. The conduit heals based on the amount of damage dealt.
This leak should be taken with a grain of salt, as the developers may have completely changed Conduit’s kit or have plans to release another Legend in Season 18.
Apex Legends Season 18 Ranking Changes
On July 19, the apex legends The developers have posted a blog where they share what they’ve learned so far from looking at Ranked in Arsenal and the changes they plan to implement in Season 18.
One of the biggest issues to be addressed is rank distribution, with Respawn acknowledging that too many players reached the top rung of the ladder this season. So here’s a breakdown of all the changes you can expect in Ranked Season 18:
- Reduced overall LP gains per match to combat the general change in rank distribution.
- A set of rules that only applies to Diamond+ to correctly score at the top of the ladder.
- Players at these ranked levels will have higher stakes and losses and lower qualification bonuses and loss mitigations.
- A minimum removal bonus increase based on the player’s MMR and overall buff removal bonus.
- Increased in-ring action by adjusting ring damage.
- Adjusted ring times to create more mid-game matches and fewer pre-end pauses.
- Updated matchmaking to better handle players who are actively challenging their MMR, for more competitive matches that reflect their ranking.
Many of these new ranked changes are exactly what the community was looking for, but we’ll have to wait until August to see what impact they have on competitive.
Apex Legends Season 18 Storm Point Map Changes Leaked
Another leaked Season 18 skin comes courtesy of HYPERMYST, who has discovered a number of trailers coming to the game ahead of the major update.
These include warning screens alerting players that extreme weather is coming to Storm Point. This could be hinting at a possible map update and even a new POI.
HYPERMYST confirmed that we can expect a skybox change, which is guaranteed to get the community excited. These are the dates on which we expect the teasers to arrive in the game:
- Phase 1: July 14
- Phase 2: July 21
- Phase 3: July 28
While this has been found in the files, it is still subject to change until it is released in the Outlands. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what Respawn has planned. apex legends Season 18 in August.
