In the original Overwatch, we had a much better idea of how the ranks were broken down statistically. You can see these ranks below:

- Gold – 32%
- Platinum – 25%
- Diamond – 10%
- Master – 3%
- Grandmaster – 1%
So just comparing these numbers, to the likely imprecise bar chart above, we can see that the majority of players have improved. Master and Grandmaster appear to have a much bigger share than the numbers appearing in Overwatch. Unfortunately, this is something of a rough science as we still don’t have the exact numbers for Overwatch 2.
