What Happens When You Sign out Apple ID on iPhone

Quick Tips

  • Once you sign out of Apple ID from your iPhone, you will not be able to access any data linked to it.
  • Go to Settings app, tap on your name, scroll down, and Sign Out.
  • If the sign-out option is grayed out, disable Screen Time, Content and Privacy Restrictions, Stolen Device Protection, and restart your iPhone.
  • You will not be able to view any data that is linked to your Apple ID – these include:
    • Notes, Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    • iCloud Drive, iCloud Keychain, iCloud Backup.
    • Safari Bookmarks, Health Data, HomeKit Configurations, Apple Pay.
  • Most importantly, you can’t use Find My iPhone without an Apple ID.
  • You cannot use FaceTime and iMessage using Apple ID when signed out.
  • You will lose access to any subscriptions linked to your Apple ID – such as Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, etc.
  • You can’t use continuity features such as Handoff, Continuity Camera, and Universal Clipboard.

How to Sign Out of Apple ID

All you need to do is to open the Settings app, tap on your username, scroll down, and Sign Out.
