Let’s say you added someone as a friend and they added you back.
Then you posted a story on your Snapchat story.
Then that person saw your story right after you posted it.
If so, their username will be displayed in your story’s viewers list.
However, if they decide to remove you as a friend or block you, that person will be shown in the “Other Snapchat Users” section.
If the person adds you back, they will be shown as a normal viewer.

Otherwise, the people you’ve added (and those who’ve added you) will be displayed in the regular story viewer.
One user who tweeted “What do other Snapchat users mean to story views” tagged Snapchat Support in 2017.
Snapchat explicitly states that “Other Snapchat Users” are Snapchat Users that you have not added.
I proved this theory by using a secondary account to add to my main account.
Then I posted a story on my main account and watched it with my secondary account.
When I check the story viewers in my main account, my secondary account is listed under the “Other Snapchat users” section.
Thus, this confirms the theory that “Other Snapchat Users” are users that you haven’t added back on Snapchat.
Reason #2: The person removed you from the friends list
The second reason you see “Other Snapchat users” is that the person may have removed you from your Snapchat friends list.
When someone removes you as a friend on Snapchat, they’ll be listed in the “Other Snapchat Users” section.
Let’s say you added someone on Snapchat and they added you back.
If that person has viewed your story, they will be on your list of normal story viewers.
However, if they delete you as a friend, they will be moved to the “Other Snapchat Users” section.
You can confirm that they removed you as a friend by looking at your chat list.
If you see a gray arrow or a “Pending” status below the person’s name in your chat list, that person has removed you as a friend.

The final reason you’re seeing “Other Snapchat Users” is the people who blocked you on Snapchat.

Instead, they’ll be listed in the “Other Snapchat Users” section.
Like the first part, I tested this theory myself.
Here’s how the test went:
- I used two accounts and added each other as friends.
- A story was posted on my first account and I watched it with my second account.
- I checked story viewers with my first account and my second account is listed as normal story viewer.
- I blocked my first account with the second one.
- When I check the people who see the story on my first account, I see that my second account is listed under “Other Snapchatter Users”.
This test demonstrates that if someone blocks you on Snapchat, they will be listed in the “Other Snapchat Users” section of your story viewer.
However, the person must see your story before blocking you, or they won’t be able to see it.
Why does it say “Other Snapchatters” but you’re still friends?
If it says “Other Snapchat users” but you’re still friends, that person has blocked you on Snapchat.
If not, they may have deleted you as a friend but you didn’t know about it.
There are three ways to confirm if someone has blocked you on Snapchat.
First, that person will be shown in the “Other Snapchat users” section of your story viewer.
If you post a story in the future, they will no longer be listed in your story’s audience.
This is because the person who blocked you on Snapchat will hide your profile from them.
With that said, they won’t be able to see your story anymore.
Second, if you see a gray arrow below a user in your chat list, it means that person may have removed you as a friend.
Finally, a “Pending” status means that the person has also removed you from the friends list.
The gray arrow and “Pending” status could also mean that the person has blocked you on Snapchat.
