What Do the Eyes Mean on Your Snapchat Story

Snapchat introduced a paid version of their app—Snapchat Plus.

If you recently started your free trial of Snapchat Plus, then you will have access to all its features.

Eyes, eye emoji (?) or compound eyes are among the features.

If you’ve posted a story, you might notice an eye emoji if you check to see who viewed the story.

There will also be a number next to the eyes—but what does it mean?

In this guide, you’ll learn the meaning of eyes (?) on your Snapchat story and how to enable or disable the feature.

What do eyes mean in your Snapchat story?

Meaning of eyes on Snapchat story

The eye on your Snapchat story shows how many people have reviewed your story.

For example, if you see the number “10” next to the eye emoji (ex: ?10), it means 10 of your friends have reviewed your story.

However, it doesn’t count multiple revisits from one person.

If someone reviews your story 3 times, it will only count as one review.

As a Snapchat Plus subscriber, you can see who’s reviewed posts in your Stories, Private Stories, and Shared Stories.

However, you need to enable “Story Rewatch Count”.

Remember that the review indicator does not show which friends have reviewed your story.

In other words, you won’t be able to know the names of people who have seen your story twice.

Snapchat may change this in a future update.

How to enable/disable eyes on your Snapchat story

Turn on Snapchat's eyes

  1. Open Snapchat and go to your profile.
  2. Click on the membership card “Snapchat+”.
  3. Tap on “Story Rewatch Count” to enable or disable the feature.

To enable “Count Stories Revisits”, you need to sign up for Snapchat+.

Snapchat+ has a free 7-day trial that you can activate.

During those 7 days you will have all the features of the subscription.

However, you need to cancel your subscription if you don’t want to renew it.

If you cancel your subscription 7 days in advance, you’ll still have Snapchat+ features.

Your features will no longer work after the 7-day trial.

To learn more, you can visit the Snapchat Help Center.
