What are the Card Carnival solutions in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?

Card Carnival is the sister minigame of Queen’s Blood in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, where it’s up to you to figure out every puzzle’s solution with predetermined cards.

You could be a QB master in the game but still struggle with Card Carnival, as it provides some real brain teasers that will more often than not leave you feeling stumped.

How to complete Card Carnival challenges

As it’s fairly difficult to plot out each move by description alone without some confusion, we’ll be describing each place on the board with its own signifier, like A3 or B5. The three horizontal rows will be A, B, and C from the top down, and then the five columns will be 1-5 from left to right.

I wasn’t able to figure out every single one of the challenges, as the later ones were real headscratchers, but I still managed most of them and will update you here once I’ve figured out the rest.

Cards del Amor Challenge – Round 1

  • Place Fleetwing in C3
  • Place Zu in A1
  • Place Quetzalcoatl in B2

This will give you a score of 5 across the top two rows, beating out the bottom row’s score of 4 to win.

Cards del Amor Challenge – Round 2

  • Place Fat Chocobo in C1
  • Place Posh Chocobo in C3
  • Place Chocobo & Moogle in C2

While the base score of 14 isn’t enough to clear the 16 that the top two rows have accumulated, the +3 winning bonus from the Posh Chocobo card pushes your score to 17 and into a winning position.

Card del Amor Challenge – Round 3

  • Place Moogle Trio in B1
  • Place Fleetwing in B2
  • Place Moogle Bard in A1
  • Place Moogle Mage in C2
  • Place Grasslands Wolf in C1

This one took me a while to figure out, as maximising the boost and destroy functions of the two additional Moogle Trio cards caused me a headache for quite a while!

Spears and Needles

  • Place Cactuar in A2
  • Place Spearhawk in A3
  • Place Spearhawk in B3
  • Place Quetzalcoatl in C3

This is another that took me quite a while because it’s against my instinct to place a single pawn card onto a double pawn spot. The bonuses given by Spearhawk are definitely worth it though, and will propel you to victory.

Sea Devil by Night

  • Place Security Officer in C2
  • Place Sea Devil in C1
  • Place Sea Devil in B2
  • Place Mandragora in B1
  • Place Mandragora in C2
  • Place Mandragora Minion in C2
  • Place Mandragora Minion in C2

While most of your placed cards will be destroyed, the key here is to increase the power of your two Sea Devils, which are enhanced with every new card played.

A Kingly Clash

  • Place Zu in A2
  • Place Zu in C2
  • Place Tonberry King in B3
  • Place Mindflayer in B1
  • Place Deathwheel in A1
  • Place Deathwheel in C1

This was by far the most challenging for me so far, as destroying as many cards as possible in the right places took a lot of trial and error. However, with the exact placements above you’ll be able to get the Tonberry King to 15 and its row to 16 overall, winning the middle row and besting the opponent’s score of 14.

One Shot, One Kill

  • Place Bloatfloat in C3
  • Place Bomb in A4
  • Place Bomb in B5
  • Place Scrutineye in C4
  • Place Dyne in B1

This will satisfyingly destroy every single card on the board apart from Dyne himself, leaving you with the sole four points in the middle lane to take the win.

Collector’s Card: Cloud

  • Place Security Officer in C2
  • Place Cloud in B2
  • Place Sephiroth in B4

Placing Sephiroth will destroy the card in A2 just above Cloud, activating an ability that raises Cloud’s power by 4 and thus triggering his own ability to bolster allied cards around him. While the middle row will be lost, the 6 and 7 points from the top and bottom will take you to victory.

Collector’s Card: Barret

  • Place Toxirat in A2
  • Place Sandhog Pie in C2
  • Place Bomb in B2
  • Place Insectoid Chimera in B2
  • Place Barret in B3

This is all about clearing the way for Barret’s powerful shot ability, and thankfully the Bomb and Insectoid Chimera combo can deal massive damage if you do it in the right place.

As mentioned, I’ll have more solutions ready once I figure them out, but this should be more than enough to build the best Queen’s Blood deck and work your way towards the top rank.
