It’s been a year since Windows 7 was officially launched with some much-awaited performance improvements and aesthetic enhancements like better Aero effects. This operating system has been selling like hotcakes ever since, and chances are you’ve already used it.
While many customization options can be configured in Windows 7, once again, Microsoft forgot to provide a way to change the login screen background. Tired of static images? I’ll help you change it by presenting you with 3 tools for this purpose, all with unique features.
1. Windows 7 Login Editor
Windows 7 Logon editor is an all-in-one utility for customizing the login screen. It supports all versions of Windows 7 (except for the Home Basic version, which we haven’t tested) and is much more adjustable than pictured.
When you launch the tool for the first time, just select “Advanced” in the “Mode” section, then you can see the main interface with additional settings, as shown in the screenshot shown above.
You can now click the “Set Background” button above to specify a picture for the login screen, then check “Style”, “Enable Shutdown” or “Policy” for more.
It is worth mentioning that the “Policies” function of this tool covers almost all the adjustments you can make to the Windows login screen. You don’t need to adjust them in the Windows Registry Editor or Group Policy anymore; just a few clicks on the box will complete.
2. Windows 7 login screen rotation tool
Another cool tool I would recommend is Windows 7 Logon Screen Rotator, which can rotate the login screen randomly.
Install and launch Windows 7 Logon Screen Rotator. Right-click on an empty area of the “Images” or “Monitored Folders” tab to add sources for rotation.
Switch to the “Settings” tab to swap them at desired intervals.
You can click the “View” button on the right to preview the login screen instantly.
3. Login Screen
Finally, there is one more option for you. By installing Login Screen, you can get the functionality directly from the desktop right-click context menu. Quite simple and convenient.
