4. Shipwrecked 1907 Heidsieck – $275,000

During the First World War, a ship transporting the wine was torpedoed by a German submarine, forcing it to sink to the ocean floor for nearly 80 years.
In 1997, the wreckage was recovered, and 2,000 bottles were saved.

5. Chateau Lafite 1869 – $230,000
When this bottle of wine went up for sale in Hong Kong, it made quite a commotion.

Many people in Asia believe that the Chateau Lafite 1869 is exceptionally uncommon, therefore bidders were eager to spend top dollar to get one of the world’s most costly wines.
6. Chateau Margaux 1787 – $225,000
This bottle of wine is no longer available for purchase for any amount of money. Unfortunately, a server tipped it over at a Margaux dinner at a Four Season Hotel.
It is supposed to be another bottle from Jefferson’s collection and was said to be the most costly wine unsold.
The owner originally valued it at $500,000, but the actual worth was reduced to $225,000 because that is what insurers paid.
