Hardman caught seven catches for 96 yards, including a 30-yard receiving touchdown, in a Week 8 35-9 win over the New York Jets.

After testing positive for COVID-19 on November 11, 2020, Hardman was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list and was then activated on November 21. While on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Hardman didn’t miss any games, but his snaps were few in the Chiefs’ Week 11 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.

With 1:14 left in the fourth quarter, the team’s winning drive resulted in his game’s lone reception. Hardman returned a punt for 67 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs’ Week 14 victory over the Miami Dolphins, marking his first punt return score ever.

Hardman finished the 2020 season with 41 receptions for 560 receiving yards, four receiving touchdowns, and one punt return touchdown.

Hardman botched a punt return in the AFC Championship game against the Buffalo Bills, which the Bills recovered at the 3-yard line and later turned into a touchdown.

Hardman, however, grabbed a touchdown pass on the following Chiefs possession and then ran for a 50-yard jet sweep. The Chiefs would triumph 38–24, going on to the LV Super Bowl. Hardman caught two catches for four yards in the Super Bowl against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who defeated them 31-9.

Hardman participated in all 17 games in the 2021 season while handling most of the punt return responsibilities, compiling 59 receptions for 693 yards and two touchdowns.

Hardman scored two touchdowns in the postseason: one on the ground in the Divisional Round and one on the air in the AFC Championship.

Hardman amassed 28 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns in Week 7’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, in addition to four receptions for 32 yards and a receiving touchdown. He made history by being the first wide receiver to score both on the ground and once in the air in the same Super Bowl.

He had an abdomen injury in Week 9 and was put on injured reserve on November 17, 2022. On January 4, 2023, Hardman was activated off injured reserve.

Hardman did make a comeback in the AFC Championship, but he suffered an abdominal injury and missed Super Bowl LVII. Hardman won his second Super Bowl after the Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35.

On March 23, 2023, Hardman signed a contract with the New York Jets. Hardman and a seventh-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft were returned to the Kansas City Chiefs on October 18, 2023, in exchange for a sixth-round pick.
