Quickly Set Multiple Images as Wallpapers in Windows 7

We’ve previously covered how to create a desktop wallpaper slideshow in Windows 7. However, I’m pretty lazy to change my wallpaper and will often have the same set of wallpapers set for months.

Now, you probably already know that you can set a wallpaper by right-clicking on an image in Windows Explorer and choosing Set as desktop background, but did you know that you can do the same thing with multiple images in Windows 7? In this guide, we’ll show you how.

Note: The ability to run a random desktop wallpaper for a fixed period of time is not available in Windows 7 Basic, however, it will work in all other versions of Windows 7.

Step 1. Navigate to the folder where you have saved the images that you want to set as wallpaper.

Step 2. Now just select the images that you want to set as your wallpaper. This can be done by:

  • Click and drag a selection
  • Shift + Click – to select a series of consecutive images
  • Ctrl + Click – to be more selective

Select image

Step 3. Now right click on one of the selected images and select Set as desktop background.

That’s it! Your screen will now automatically rotate through those images at a set interval. If you want to change the time interval or other visual settings, you still have to do it differently.
