Best counters to beat Arlo’s Bellsprout

Like with other Rocket Leaders where the first Pokemon is notably weak, you can quickly beat Arlo’s Bellsprout with any reasonably powerful Pokemon.

Still, if you want to use a specific counter to defeat Arlo’s first Pokemon as quickly as possible, you can utilise Bellsprout’s weaknesses by using counters with Flying, Fire, Psychic, and Ice-type attacks.

Best counters to beat Arlo’s second Pokemon

Although a tough opponent no matter which he sends out, all of the options for the leader’s second Pokemon do have common type weaknesses – making the task of picking the best counters for Arlo just a bit easier. 

Best Alakazam counters

Arlo’s Alakazam is weak to Bug, Ghost and Dark-type attacks. Whilst its attack stat is quite high, its lower stamina and defense make the Abra evolution a bit of a glass cannon you can exploit. 

Best Sharpedo counters

Like Alakazam, the Sharpedo in Arlo’s party is weak to Bug-type moves as well as Fighting, Grass, Electric, and Fairy-type attacks, thanks to its Water/Dark typing. With that, there’s a plethora of Arlo counters to choose from. 

Best Mismagius counters

Similar to a different Alakazam weak point this time, Mismagmius is also weak to Dark and Ghost-type attacks. Whilst being slightly more durable than Alakazam in terms of defense and stamina in Pokemon GO, Mismagius is still vulnerable to these decent Arlo counters and more as well.

Despite being a well-balanced selection of tank-like Pokemon for Arlo’s third GO party member, there are thankfully some shared weaknesses to exploit in the Rocket Leader’s lineup as well. 

Best Snorlax counters

Arlo’s Snorlax is an intimidating opponent in this lineup with its Normal typing meaning its only weakness is Fighting-type moves, along with its massive Stamina stats.

Nevertheless, there are plenty of picks for you to take down Snorlax, and they also have some crossover with the Sharpedo counters as well.

Best Scizor counters

The Scizor in the Rocket Leader’s team can be a brutal enemy to take on with its sole Fire-type weakness. However, that weakness deals 256% super-effective damage, meaning any crossover with Fire-types used for Bellsprout would make your team of Arlo counters extra efficient. 

Best Magnezone counters

Just like with Scizor, Magnezone has a weakness for Fire-type attacks – along with Fighting and Ground. Even though Ground is the most ideal at 256% super-effective damage, there’s plenty of extra opportunity for crossover by using respective Fire and Fighting counters for Scizor or Sharpedo as well

Whilst you can take on Team GO Rocket Leader Arlo with different Pokemon as many times as you like, you can find the most balanced team of counters with their best movesets for the task below: 

Not only will this efficient team of Arlo counters give you the most type coverage no matter which Pokemon chooses for this second and third team members, but it will also give you the best defense in the Pokemon GO boss battle as well. 

By first using Reshiram to speedily dispose of Bellsprout, you can switch it out for Terrakion if Arlo next sounds out Sharpedo. Alternatively, you can just switch out to Darkai if the Rocket leader send out Alakazam or Mismagius. 

Finally, whilst you can also reserve Terrakion in case Arlo’s final Pokemon is Snorlax, the best outcome will be if he instead uses Scizor or Magnezone.

In which case, whilst Terrakion is also useful against Magnezone, saving your Moltres which should still be at almost for HP from earlier will be able to quickly burn through it, and Scizor even moreso.
