A melody named Chandi Jaisa Pankaj Udhas sang the song Rang hai tera, sone jaise bal, which translates to “Your color is like silver, your hair is like gold.” Manhar Udhas, the older brother of Pankaj Udhas, was a theatrical actor who helped Pankaj get his start in music.

He enrolled in the Sangeet Natya Academy in Rajkot four years later, where he picked up the subtleties of tabla playing.
