Who is David Schwimmer?
David Lawrence Schwimmer was born on November 2, 1966 in Flushing, Queens, New York. He is the son of Arthur and Arlene, both of whom are attorneys. He has a sibling called Ellie. Lawrence was raised as a Jewish.
Schwimmer attended Beverly Hills High School after his family moved to Beverly Hills. He took classes in drama where he made appearances in stage productions. He later moved Chicago where he went take summer drama lessons at the Northwestern University.
Later, he enrolled at Northwestern University where he studied theater and was in an improv group with Stephen Colbert, the No-Fun Mud Piranhas. Schwimmer graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater and speech in 1988, co-founded Lookingglass Theatre Company before returning to pursue a career in acting in Los Angeles.
In 1989, he starred in the movie” A Deadly Silence” as well as making appearances in a number of television roles in the early 1990s, including L.A. Law, The Wonder Years, NYPD Blue, and Monty.
Schwimmer gained prominence after portraying Ross Geller in the sitcom Friends, for which he received a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
