She attended St. Mary Academy Bay View and later went to Boston University, but did not graduate. Olivia again attended the Brevard Music Center, in Brevard, North Carolina for 2 summers where she performed with the Boston Accompanietta.

As a model, Olivia Culpo was featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She won the Miss Rhode Island USA competition and went on to win Miss USA, as well as Miss Universe in 2012.

In November 2013, she crowned Gabriela Isler of Venezuela as her successor making her (Olivia) the 3rd Miss Universe from the USA to pass the title off to Venezuela, after Shawn Weatherly in 1981 and Chelsi Smith in 1996.

As an actress, Olivia has made starred in the reality television show, Model Squad and has played roles in several films including; The Other Woman, I Feel Pretty and Reprisal. She was also cast as the female lead in Venus as a Boy.
