Mary Lou Retton is blessed with four daughters; McKenna Lane Kelley, Skyla Brae Kelley (born in 2000), Shayla Rae Kelley (born on April 12, 1995), and Emma Jean Kelley (born on June 20, 2002).
The Olympic legend shares all four children with her ex-husband, Shannon Kelley (m. 1990–2018). McKenna was born on April 15, 1997. She’s a retired American artistic gymnast. She was a level 10 gymnast who won the 2014 Nastia Liukin Cup.

The five-time Olympic medalist is reportedly battling “a rare form of pneumonia” and has been in the ICU at an undisclosed hospital for more than a week “not able to breathe on her own”, her daughter said in an Instagram story posted on Tuesday, October 10.
Kelley wrote: “My amazing mom, Mary Lou, has a very rare form of pneumonia and is fighting for her life. She is not able to breathe on her own and has been in the ICU for over a week now. Out of respect for her and her privacy, I will not disclose all details. However, I will disclose that she is not insured”
McKenna Kelley also set up a fundraiser page to help pay for her mom’s hospital bill. She added: “We ask that if you could help in any way, that 1) you PRAY! and 2) if you could help us with finances for the hospital bill.”
At the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, Retton won five medals; she won a gold medal in the individual all-around competition, as well as two silver medals and two bronze medals.
Retton made history by becoming the first American woman to win the all-around gold in the 1984 Summer Olympics. She retired in September 1986 but remained active in the media, appearing in a number of films and TV shows.
Retton was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 1997 and was the first woman to be selected into the Houston Sports Hall of Fame in 2020.
