Is Skull and Bones open world?

Skull and Bones is the new upcoming pirate adventure game from Ubisoft, but will it be an open world experience for fans?

If you’re looking forward to exploring the high seas and plundering with your friends, we’ll run you through everything you can gear up to expect from the game when it launches on February 16th.

Is Skull and Bones open world?

In short, yes, Skull and Bones is an open world game. More specifically, it’s a shared open world with other players, so you’ll be able to sail around and encounter others out on the seas.

The world is based on the Indian Ocean, and it’s set in the late 17th century. You’ll be able to explore the “beautiful yet dangerous” waters and locations, starting as an outcast and building up your ship over time.

We’ll find out more about exactly what to expect from the game’s world once the open beta begins on February 8th.

In Skull and Bones, you’ll be rising through the ranks from a lowly pirate to a prominent master of the seas. You’ll do that by venturing out into the world, finding treasure and upgrading your ship.

You can control each aspect of your ship, including its navigation and firepower. You can also team up with friends if you fancy a bit of co-op gameplay.

If you prefer, you can go after other players and take on their vessels to potentially claim their loot on-board. You can sink them to grab their cargo, but make sure they don’t sink you as you’ll respawn elsewhere without some of your own goods.
