If you’re using a Pixel phone or another model running stock Android, you can follow the steps below to view and share Wi-Fi passwords.
Step 1: Open the Settings app on your phone and navigate to Network & internet.
Step 2: Go to Wi-Fi and click on the gear icon next to the network you are connected to.
Step 3: Tap the Share option and verify your identity by verifying your fingerprint or entering a PIN.
You will see a QR code appear on the screen with the Wi-Fi password mentioned below. Others can scan this QR code via the Camera app or use the Add network option in the Wi-Fi menu to manually provide connection details.
Alternatively, you can also take a screenshot of the QR code and share the message.
Similarly, your Android phone also allows you to view and share passwords for any networks you’ve previously connected to. Here’s how you can check those details.

For this tutorial, we used a Samsung Galaxy phone running on One UI 4.1 update. So the exact steps may vary according to your phone manufacturer and Android version.
Step 1: Open the Settings app on your phone and navigate to Connections.
Step 2: Select Wi-Fi and tap the cog icon next to your current Wi-Fi network.
Step 3: Tap the QR code option at the bottom and share the Wi-Fi password directly from here.
Step 4: If you want to see the Wi-Fi password, tap the Save as image option or take a screenshot of the QR code on the screen.
Step 5: Next, open the QR code image in the Google Photos app and tap on the Lens option at the bottom to scan. Once the scan is complete, you will see a pop-up with the Wi-Fi password for the network along with the option to join the network.
Alternatively, you can scan it with a third-party QR code scanner app. The steps mentioned above will help you to view or share Wi-Fi passwords on most Android phones.
One key difference from phones running custom Android software (such as One UI, ColorOS, etc.) is that they only allow you to view and share a network’s password if you’re already connected to it. So if you’re looking to retrieve Wi-Fi passwords for saved networks, you may have to use a Windows or Mac computer.
