How to Use the Clock App on Mac

With the release of macOS Ventura, Apple has finally released the Clock app for Mac users. The new Clock and Weather apps are some of the most awaited additions. As surprising as it may sound, a dedicated clock app has been missing on macOS while it has always been available for iPhone and iPad.

While Apple tries to bridge the gap between macOS and iOS, the new app is a welcome change. We’ll show you how to use the Clock app and its various features on your Mac.

Requires watch app

To enjoy the new Clock app, your Mac needs to be running at least macOS Ventura or later. If you haven’t installed the update, get it from the System Preferences menu. Here’s how you can check for macOS updates.

Step 1: Click the Apple icon in the top left corner.

Step 2: Click About This Mac.

Step 3: Click on Software Update.

Step 4: Download and install the macOS Ventura update.

Now, let us show you how to use different features of the Clock app on your Mac.

1. World clock

As the name suggests, World Clock allows you to check the Time Zone of any city or region of your choice across the globe. You can add more than 4 clocks with different time zones using the Clock app compared to the Clock Widget that showed four different time zones before. It also saves you the hassle of checking the time in another city by opening a web browser on your Mac.

Step 4: Enter the city name in the Search Bar.

Step 5: Click on the search result to add its Time Zone.

You will notice the clock for your selected region has been added at the bottom along with your current Time Zone clock.

To remove the clock for a specific time zone, hover your mouse pointer over that clock and click the X icon in its top left corner.
