If you’ve played enough Content Warning, you’ll likely have noticed the Boom Mic and Clapper in the Item Shop by now. When used properly, they can be vital items that help boost your view count on SpookTube.
However, there are a few things you need to know about these items, as using them incorrectly in the game can actually hinder more than they help – especially the Boom Mic.
How to use the Boom Mic properly in Content Warning

The Boom Mic amplifies the sound that’s near to it, ultimately making for better quality sound. I find that it’s best used when one player holds it up above another player who’s presenting the video, ensuring that their voice can be heard loud and clear on the recording.
However, there’s a caveat to the Boom Mic – while it amplifies sounds on the recording, it also amplifies them in the world. That means monsters are more likely to be able to hear you and come after you.
So, if you’re watching a monster from afar and don’t want to be spotted, it’s probably best to put the Boom Mic away for a bit. Alternatively, you can also bait monsters out by dropping a Boom Mic and waiting for a monster to come and investigate.
How to use the Clapper properly

The Clapper has fewer uses than the Boom Mic but is still useful in creating your video recordings. Just like how movie studios use clappers to mark the beginning and end of a shoot, you’re supposed to use the Clapper to mark the beginning and end of each clip.
Much like the Boom Mic, I find it’s best to give the Clapper to a player who isn’t presenting, filming, or holding the Boom Mic. They can then use the Clapper to mark the start of a clip, adding a small amount of production value to your recording.
As the name would suggest, the Clapper makes a clapping sound when used, so you can also use it to bait out monsters in a pinch – but it’s less effective than using a Boom Mic.
Both items are available in the shop for $100, and you should aim to purchase both of them as soon as you can afford to. After a couple of days of filming in the Old World, it shouldn’t take you too long at all to save up.
