We know that creating virtual pin boards is fun, but deleting a Pinterest Board is a difficult step. Thankfully, Pinterest offers us an alternative in the form of an Archive that allows you to hide your Board from public view. While they’re still visible on your profile, there’s not much you can do about it.
The good thing about Archive is that you can always restore or unarchive. And, Pinterest lets you do that easily.
Here you will find methods to unarchive Pinterest Boards on mobile and desktop apps. But before that, let’s understand what happens to a stored Table.
What happens when you store a table
When you archive a Board, it disappears from your public records. You can still access it in the Archived Tables section. Pinterest makes it similar to Secret Boards. However, both are different.
For starters, you can save Pins to Secret Boards, but not with Archive Boards. To save a Pin, you need to unarchive a Board. Don’t get confused with the interface and learn the difference between Pin and Board.
Pinterest allows you to add collaborators to Boards. If other collaborators are part of a Board that you created and hosted, it will not be archived for them. They can still save Pins there.
In addition, when you archive a Board, you will not receive recommendations related to that particular Board. Storing a table is not a permanent step. You can always unarchive the Tables and they will start working properly.
Here’s how you can unarchive a table.

Step 1: In the Pinterest app, go to the Saved tab. Here you will find all your boards.
Step 2: Scroll to the bottom of the list. You will find all your Archived Boards here. The Archives Panels have a black circular Archive icon.

Step 3: Tap Table to open it. On the next screen, press the Edit icon.
Step 4: Now instead of Archive board option you will find Unarchive board. Touch it. On the confirmation screen, tap Unarchive.
Your table will be unarchived. You can now add Pins to it.
desktop
Step 1: Open the Pinterest website and go to your profile. You will find all your boards here.
Step 2: Scroll to the bottom. You will find Stored Tables.
Step 3: Mouse over Board. You will get a Pencil Edit icon. Click it.
Step 4: In the Edit Panel pop-up that appears, click the Unarchive button.
What happens when you delete a table
If you don’t want to see a Board anymore, you can delete it. To delete a Board, open it and tap (mobile app) or click (on PC) the Edit Board icon. Then, from the box that pops up, choose Delete. A confirmation pop-up will appear. Tap/click Delete.
Deleting the Board is a permanent step and it also deletes all your pins. Furthermore, you will also lose all followers of that particular Board. However, the users who follow your account, you will not lose them.
Also, note that deleted Tables cannot be retrieved.
Instead of deleting the Board, you can turn it into a Secret Board. This way the Board won’t show up on your public profile and in case you ever want to get it back, it’s easy. In addition, you also will not lose the followers of the Board.
Bonus trick: How to merge tables
Before you delete a Board, you can move some or all of that Board’s Pins to another Board. In other words, you can merge Boards on Pinterest.
Merge boards on PC
Pinterest offers a dedicated Merge button on its website. When you use it, all your Pins from one Board will move to another.
Here’s how to go about it.
Step 1: Open your profile. Go to the Board with the Pin that you want to merge with the second Pin. Click the Edit Table icon.
Step 2: From the pop-up menu, click Merge.
Step 3: You will be asked to select the Board where you want to merge existing Pins. Select Board and click Move Pin and Delete Board.

Table merge on mobile app
Merging two Boards on the Pinterest mobile app is not a straightforward process as you don’t have a dedicated button. You could download the Pins and re-upload them, but that would be cumbersome.
The native option requires you to manually select and move Pins from one Board to another to merge them.
Here are the steps:
Step 1: Launch the app and open the Table.
Step 2: Tap the Sort button at the top.
Step 3: Then select the Pins that you want to move to another Board by tapping on them. Once selected, tap Next.
Step 4: Select the Board or Section you want to move them.
Keep safe
Deleting a Board has obvious downsides – you will lose its followers and Pins. In case you want a Board that is no longer visible to the public, consider using the Archive option. And then you can always unarchive or view the Pin at any time.
