Change default note taking app
Here’s what you need to do to change the default app on Google Assistant.
Step 1: Launch Google Assistant by saying the command Ok Google or by holding the home button. In case the Ok Google command doesn’t work for you, try the following solutions.
Step 2: Speak the command ‘Self-Note’ or ‘Create Note.’

Switch between note taking apps
As you know if you say the command Create Notes or Notes to yourself followed by the note text, it will be saved in the default application. Sometimes, you also want to add notes directly to other apps without going through the steps above.
To do so, launch the Google Assistant and command, ‘Create a note in Evernote’ or ‘Evernote to open the note itself’. Replace the word Evernote with the name of the app you want to use.

Note to self not working
If you still use Gmail to save notes through the Google Assistant, sometimes the notes don’t show up in Gmail. Normally, Google emails you notes whenever you use the Notes to Self command (if you choose Gmail as your default app) to create some notes. But if for some reason you don’t receive notes, we recommend installing the Google Keep Notes app. If you already have the app on your phone, open it to check out the notes created through the Assistant.
Extra Tip 1: Use Google Assistant to Remember Everything
Google Assistant supports taking notes using third-party apps, but it also comes with the ability to remember things.
Here’s how to make Google remember things for you.
Step 1: Launch Google Assistant on your device.
Step 2: Give the Memo command, then what you need the Assistant to remember. For example: Remember the car was parked at 22 o’clock or Remember the key in the drawer.
Step 3: Then, when you need the information, launch the Assistant and command ‘What did I tell you to remember about the key’ or ‘Where is my car parked?’
If you want to see all the things you’ve asked Assistant to remember, say: “What did I ask you to remember?”. Use the Forget command to make the Assistant forget everything. If you have multiple items, you will have separate options for forgetting them.
Yes, of course, you can’t use this feature for all of your notes, but it’s useful when you want to remember little things or for short periods of time.
Extra Tip 2: Add a Nickname
While you can’t change the name of the Google Assistant (I wish we could call it something else), it does allow you to add a nickname for yourself. This means you can change the name the Assistant uses to call you.
To do so, follow these steps:
Step 1: Launch Google Assistant and tap the Explore icon in the upper right corner.
Step 2: Tap the three-dot icon in the upper right corner and select Settings from the menu.
Step 3: In Settings, go to Personal Info followed by Nickname.
Step 4: Click the Edit icon next to the nickname and enter a new name.
Once set up, tap the Play button below Pronunciation to hear its pronunciation. If you are not satisfied with it, use the Spelling Pronunciation option for perfect pronunciation.
