Subtitles can lag behind or play ahead of the video, thus making it difficult for you to follow everything. And if only someone could sync subtitles with videos easily, life would be so much easier.
Yes, not many players provide a solution for this. However, I have been using KMPlayer for a while and have found that it allows for a very good predicament. Let us see how to solve this mystery and make our video viewing experience better.
How to sync subtitles with videos in KMPlayer
KMPlayer is a great option to have. It supports several formats and has a lot of options to fool around. One of them is its Subtitles Menu and the image below shows its scope and capabilities.
We will build and explore options Subtitle Explorer where you can edit subtitles to play late or ahead of time. This option pulls out a Subtitle Explorer window with many editable options. The top left of the editor has options to drag the subtitles back or ahead of the current playing time.
Below the buttons is the criteria for adjusting its font. The button of interest here is S. It really allows you to sync subtitles and videos seamlessly. I usually fix them in a four-step sequence as mentioned below.
Step 1: Try to catch a word or sentence while playing the video and pause at that position.
Step 2: Right click on the player pane and launch Subtitle Explorer window. Or use the hotkey combination- Alt+Q.
Step 3: Find the sentence where you paused your video and select that line.
Step 4: Click on the button with the word Sand your video will sync with the subtitles at the specific location.
The right side of the frame comes with some advanced options. I have not explored them yet and do not feel the need to do so. button e is all I know.
