How to solve the book puzzle in Assassin’s Creed Mirage and find the Hidden Chamber

As you approach the end of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, you’ll be tasked with a fairly tricky puzzle that involves placing a bunch of books on pedestals to open up a hidden chamber. While the game does give you plenty of clues on how to solve this puzzle, we still found it a rather tricky affair.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is much less guided than previous games in the series, asking the player to do a bit of detective work when it comes to solving its many quests. Whether it’s deciphering the many Enigma’s that the game has to find, or uncovering all of Dervis’ Artifacts for a reward, there’s plenty in Mirage that requires you to use your brain.

The book puzzle to find the Qabiha’s chamber is one of them, but we’ve managed to solve it for you if you’re struggling to figure it out. Don’t worry, we’ll give you a few clues first to point you in the right direction!

Clues for the book puzzle in Assassin’s Creed Mirage

The key to solving the Assassin’s Creed Mirage book puzzle is in Arib’s poem, which is laid out on the table at the foot of the stairs to the book lecterns. Basim will constantly recite the poem to himself if you hang around long enough, but here’s the poem in full:

“Ocean, Desert, Cobra, Dove”

Rage as the Ocean,I’ll sweeten your storms;Scorch as the desert,I’ll bathe in your heat;Strike as the cobra, but plunge in my breast;Soar as the dove, but alight in my nest;Where you go, there I’ll go;Where you rest, there I’ll rest.

Once you’ve read the poem, head up the stairs to find four lecterns surrounding the balcony ledge. To solve the puzzle, you’ll need to place four books of different colours in the correct order. Look closely at the title of the poem to figure out which order you need to place the books in.

If you use Eagle Vision, you may also spot some drawings high on the walls opposite each lectern. As far as we can tell, these appear to be red herrings as we couldn’t figure out how they related to solving the book puzzle.

Still haven’t managed to find the answer? We’ll explain it all fully in the next section – but beware of spoilers!

SPOILER WARNING:
The next section will include the full solution for the book puzzle in The Head of the Snake quest in Asssassin’s Creed Mirage.

How to solve the book puzzle and reveal the Hidden Chamber

All the book options in AC MirageClick to enlarge

To solve the book puzzle in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, you need to place the corresponding book colour on each of the lecterns in the right order. Each book colour corresponds to something in the title of Arib’s poem, like so:

  • Ocean = Blue
  • Desert = Yellow
  • Cobra = Black
  • Dove = White

As such, you need to place the books in that order on each of the lecterns as you come across them when reaching the top of the stairs.

So, you’ll need to place the blue book on the first lectern, the yellow book on the second, black on the third, and finally white on the fourth.

Once you’ve placed all of the books in the correct order, you will trigger a cutscene that will reveal the location of the Qabiha’s Hidden Chamber. From there, you can continue on with the story as you approach the end of the Assassin’s Creed Mirage story.
