It’s almost time for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and with it, comes the opportunity to preload the game before its release time in your region.
The exact steps to do so can be confusing if you don’t normally preload big releases, but my quick and easy guide will show you the way.
How to preload Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
To be able to preload FF7 Rebirth, which you can do right now as of 12AM on February 27, you’ll just need to have pre-ordered a digital copy of the game.
Once you’ve done so, follow these quick steps to get Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth preloaded onto your PS5:
- Go into your “Game Library” from the console home screen
- Select the “Your Collection” tab
- Select Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
- You’ll see a timer symbol in the game’s top-right corner
- Select “Download”
After it downloads, you’ll then see a countdown timer telling you how long you’ll have before the FF7 Rebirth unlocks at its release time.

The game’s download file size is especially massive, so it will be extra handy to have it already installed so you can play it as soon as possible on release day without a big wait.
FF7 Rebirth release time
FF7 Rebirth has a release time of midnight local time in all of its regions, but the US launch times will vary since the PlayStation Store launches there are based on Eastern time.
The release times for Final Fantasy Rebirth in the various US timezones are as follows:
