How to get & use Stardrop Tea in Stardew Valley

Improving your friendships is one of the most important things to do in Stardew Valley, and knowing how you can get Stardrop Tea can make the whole process a lot easier.

Each Villager has their own specific loved gifts alongside universal items that everyone likes – but using Stardrop Tea can boost your relationships with them more than anything else in the game.

How to get Stardrop Tea

  • Prize Machine (Mayor Lewis’ house)
  • Helper’s Bundle (Bulletin Board Remixed)
  • Golden Fishing Treasure Chests

Using Prize Tickets in Mayor Lewis’ machine is where most players will likely find their first lot of the tea, as it’s both the 5th and 16th reward. You can gain these Prize Tickets by completing requests from the Bulletin Board outside of Pierre’s Shop, or through Special Orders once you’ve unlocked them.

I was able to get my first Stardrop Tea reward by Year One Fall, although you’ll likely get them much quicker as I was a bit lax with quests in the earlier seasons.

Alternatively, another guaranteed way to get it is through the Helper’s Bundle in the Bulletin Board Remix, which becomes available once you select ‘Remixed’ in the Advanced Game Options when starting a new save.

You’ll likely only do this if you’re a seasoned player looking to switch things up, but it can be a good way to quickly boost your relationships – although it’s not guaranteed to spawn as part of the Community Center Bulletin Board node.

Finally, the item is also a potential spawn from Golden Fishing Treasure Chests – although these are only obtainable once you have reached Mastery for the Fishing skill. This is obviously late game, but another potential option if you’ve got some friendships to top up.

What does Stardrop Tea do?

As you can’t use it yourself, Stardrop Tea is exclusively used to gift to other Villagers, and is a particularly strong gift at that! It grants 250 Friendship Points as a standard gift, or 750 Points on a character’s birthday – the equivalent of one or three Hearts respectively.

This makes Stardrop Tea the most effective gift in the entire game, and what’s more, it works the same on every single Villager – so you won’t have to worry about giving it to the wrong person either!

Additionally, it doesn’t count towards any daily or weekly gift limits, so it’s great to stack on top of existing items to maximise your friendship gain. One good combination is to give a Stardrop Tea alongside a character’s loved gift on their birthday, as you’ll gain 1390 Friendship Points overall, equating to five and a half Hearts.
