Now, it’s not that the preview feature is completely missing on Windows 10, but it’s not as streamlined as you’d see on a Mac. Seer for Windows
To get started, download and install the Seer app on your computer. Installation is simple, and you just need to follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup. The installation is clean and does not include 3rd party adware. Once the installation is complete, run the application and you are ready to go.
Seer will start minimized in the System Tray, and you can select a compatible file and press the spacebar to preview it. It’s as simple as that.
Seer supports audio, video, ZIP, RAR and not to mention text files. Office documents are not currently supported, but PDF files are displayed in preview along with the folder contents. A full list can be found under Type option in Setting can be opened using the right-click context menu in the System Tray.
While you are in the settings, don’t forget to check the option Run Seer when the PC boots to make sure you load the program while your PC boots and the feature is always at your fingertips. There is plugin support, but I’m not entirely sure how it works.
When the preview window opens, selecting another file with a single click will switch the preview to the second file. If the file is incompatible, you’ll see an info pane that gives you brief information about the file including checksums. The preview pane uploads quickly, and if you want to open the file in the native viewer, you can do so directly from the preview window.
You can perform a number of actions in the preview window, and each action has an activation key associated with it, which can be found in the settings. Just in case the activation key conflicts with another program, you can change it in the settings option.
