Equipment is vital for improving your characters in AFK Journey, as it provides helpful stats to give your classes a boost.
You can forge Equipment to get better gear, and if you’re not sure how to do so I’ve got you covered. This guide will rundown how to forge Equipment, what resources you’ll need and what gear you should prioritise in the game.
How to forge Equipment in AFK Journey
Once you’ve progressed through the game a bit, you’ll unlock the ability to use Equipment. Shortly after that, you’ll gain the ability to forge new Equipment to replace your weakest gear.
All you need to do is select the Equipment tab in the Resonating Hall, then click on Equipment and choose the class you want to forge for (support, tank, etc). Then select a piece of Equipment with “Forge” below it to craft a new, stronger version.

Each class has six different types of Equipment, ranging from boots and gloves to weapons. Each one has its own level, and forging it will increase that particular item to whatever your max forging level is. You can see your max forging level on the right side of the screen when you view your six Equipment types.
Forging will cost you Gold and Forging Stones. Gold is obtained pretty much everywhere, but Forging Stones is only obtained by recycling old Equipment.
What Equipment should you prioritise forging?
You should focus on forging Equipment with defensive stats for tanks, and offensive stats for damage dealers. You can check each Equipment’s stats by tapping it and viewing its effects.
For example, a marksman will want a strong bow because it grants you extra attack, crit and attack speed, but a cowl or armour piece is less important as you don’t need the extra tank stats that badly.

Equipment is shared between all heroes of any particular class, so your tanks will all benefit from whatever tank Equipment you have, warriors will benefit from all warrior Equipment and so on.
If you’re not using certain classes for your team comp, such as a warrior or mage, don’t bother forging anything for them yet as it’ll be a waste of resources. Of course, you can always switch up your team and use different heroes, so it’s a good idea to keep all your classes levelled up with good Equipment.
