Slow browser? Try the Reset Firefox button
The new one Reset Firefox Button is a troubleshooter’s delight. Let’s say you’re having problems – such as slow and unresponsive browsing – with your Firefox browser and you have absolutely no idea what’s causing the problem. You just go to Help – Troubleshooting Information and click the Reset Firefox button located at the top right (see screen).
But the good thing is that it is not like the reset buttons that we have on mobile phones. Just tap on one of them and all our data will be deleted even before you can say sayonara. The Reset Firefox button creates a new profile and moves your bookmarks, passwords, history, cookies, and form data. Everything else is set to default.
That means the add-on, theme, search engine, and homepage settings are set to the same as in the initial Firefox installation. The latter are usually the culprits when it comes to Firefox errors. Now you can start from scratch in a new profile where important data like bookmarks, advertising passwords are kept.
It’s a simple 3 step process:
1. Go to Help – >Troubleshooting Information and click Reset Firefox Button.
2. Click the Reset Firefox button again that appears in the confirmation window.
3. Firefox will close and be reset to factory defaults. When done, a window will list the information that was entered. Click Finish and Firefox will open.

This is a quick fix in case you are experiencing slow and frequent browser crashes or just want to start from scratch. Maybe Mozilla hopes you’ll stick with Firefox and not switch to another browser when the next problem occurs.
