Notes is a new feature on Messenger that allows you to share your thoughts.

When you share a note, your friends will be able to see it for 24 hours.

You can change your audience to “Friends and connections”, “Friends”, or “Custom”.

There is also a feature to add music to your notes to show your friends what you’re listening to.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to fix the music option not showing or not working on Messenger Notes on Android or iOS.

Why is the music option not showing on Messenger Notes?

The music option is not showing on Messenger Notes because it’s not rolled out to everyone yet.

According to the official Messenger Community Hub, a bug with Android devices caused the test to be reset.

Hence, if you previously had the music option but it’s not showing now, you must wait for the next Messenger update.

The music option is available on versions 467.0.0 or later for a selected number of users.

Open the App Store or Google Play Store.
Search for “Messenger”.
Select “Update” to update the app to the latest version (version 467.0.0 or later).
Open Messenger, tap on your profile picture and check if the music option is showing.

According to Hasan from the Messenger Community Hub, the music option has not been rolled out to everyone yet.

If you don’t have access to the music option, you need to wait until it’s rolled out to you.

Join the “Notes Feedback” group.
Send a message to the group saying that you’ve updated the app to the latest version but you still don’t have the music option.
Wait for an administrator’s response.
Or, you can DM an administrator for assistance by following these steps:
1. Expand “Chat members” on the left sidebar.
2. Select “See all” and select “Admin & Moderators”.
3. Send a DM to Hasan Dag (the Product Manager at Facebook Messenger) by selecting the three dots followed by “Message”.
4. Say that you don’t have the music feature and you want access to it.
