How to Fix CloudAgent Has Stopped Error on Galaxy Note 2

Samsung Galaxy Note 2I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (yes, that ‘huge’ phone!) and had a great time using its features and making the most of the stylus. . The phone works fine except for a nagging error that started appearing from the first day of using the device. The error says ‘Unfortunately, CloudAgent has stopped’ and usually removes whatever app I’m working on when I click OK.

It usually pops up when I’m in the Gallery, browsing photos, but that’s not the only time it shows up. As you can see in the screenshot below, it can also show up on the shutdown screen.

The error is not hard to understand. It can be concluded that CloudAgent is a service running in the background that has stopped unexpectedly. I’m not sure if this is a Google service that runs on all Android or a Samsung-specific service. I also can’t tell you what causes this error. Looks like it has something to do with automatically uploading Gallery photos to Dropbox.

Whatever the reason for this error, the good news is that I fixed it. Disabling the service entirely is an option and should get you rid of the error, but I don’t want to do that. I want to solve the problem, not run away from it.

Here is the solution:

Step 1: Enter Setting on your Galaxy Note 2 and from there Application management.

Step 2: In Application Manager you will find a service named Cloud agent or below Running or below All.

Step 3: This is what I did in this step and you can also do it in the same order:

  • Force stop service.
  • Disable it.
  • Clear cache.
  • Delete data.
  • Activate it.

Step 4: The easiest step of all: Reboot the device.

I did the steps above once and haven’t had that error since, regardless of the app or how I used the phone.

However, I wouldn’t call this a perfect or only solution. It worked for me and I hope it works for you too. But you shouldn’t be surprised otherwise; Android’s versatility means it has its own idiosyncrasies and you may need to try different things.

If you are a Galaxy Note 2 owner who has encountered this error or maybe you own some other device that had the same error and fixed it by following a bunch of other steps then I recommend you to share them in the comments below. It will help readers who can’t do the steps above.
