How to Enable Two-Step Verification (2FA) for Amazon
You can enable Two-Step Verification of your Amazon account by using the official Amazon web page on your desktop and the mobile app. Let us show you the steps for both platforms.
Enable on Desktop
Step 1: Open Amazon website in a web browser on your Mac or Windows.
Step 2: Sign in to your Amazon account and click on Account and Lists at the top-right corner.
Step 3: Select Your Account.
Step 4: Click on Login and Security.
Step 5: Enter your Amazon account password again to confirm.
Step 6: Scroll down and click on Turn On button next to 2-Step Verification.
Step 7: Click on Get Started button.
Step 8: Enter the phone number that you would like to use as your authenticator.
Step 9: Click on Continue.
Step 10: Enter the One-Time Passcode to confirm your phone number.
Step 11: Scroll down and click on ‘I got it. Please turn on Two-Step Verification’ at the bottom.
After that Two-Step Verification gets enabled for your Amazon account.
Turn Off Two-Step Verification for Amazon on Desktop
You can remove Two-Step Verification from your Amazon account on your computer with the following steps.

Step 2: Click on Accounts and Lists in the top-right corner and select Your Account.
Step 3: Click on Login and Security.
Step 4: Scroll down and click on Manage next to 2-Step Verification.

Enable On Mobile
Step 1: Open the Amazon app on your iPhone or Android phone.
Step 2: Tap the Profile icon at the bottom.
Step 3: Tap on Your Account.
Step 4: Select Login and Security.
Step 5: Scroll down and tap on Turn On button next to 2-Step Verification.
Step 6: Tap on Get Started.
Step 7: Select your phone number and tap on Please Send OTP button.
Step 8: Tap on ‘I got it. Please turn on Two-Step Verification’ button.
Turn Off Two-Step Verification for Amazon on Mobile
Step 1: Open the Amazon app on your iPhone or Android phone.
Step 2: Tap the profile icon and select Your Account.
Step 3: Tap on Login and Security.
Step 4: Select Disable.
Step 5: Tap on Disable again to confirm.
Change Phone Number for Two-step Verification for Amazon
If you want to change the phone number entered as your Two-Step Verification authenticator device, here’s how to do it on the official Amazon web page.
Step 1: Open Amazon website in a web browser on your Mac or Windows.
Step 2: Sign in to your account and click on Accounts and Lists at the top-right corner.
Step 3: Select Your Account.
Step 4: Click on Login and Security.
Step 5: Scroll down and click on Manage next to Two-Step Verification.
Step 6: Click on Change next to your mobile number enrolled previously.
Step 7: Enter your new mobile number and click on Continue.
Follow the on-screen steps and your Amazon account number for Two-Step Verification will be changed.
How to Use Google Authenticator for Amazon Two-Step Verification
Apart from the Amazon web page and mobile app, you can also use Google Authenticator on your iPhone or Android phone to enable Two-Step Verification for your Amazon account. You can download the app and follow these steps.
Step 1: Open Google Authenticator on your iPhone or Android phone.
Step 2: Sign in with your Google account.
Step 3: Open Amazon website in a web browser on your Mac or Windows.
Step 4: Click on Accounts and Lists and select Your Account.
Step 5: Select Login and Security.
Step 6: Click on Turn On next to Two-Step Verification.
Step 7: Click on Get Started.
Step 8: Select Authenticator App as your 2SV authenticator.
Step 9: In Google Authenticator, tap the Plus icon at the bottom-right corner and select Scan QR code.
Step 10: Scan the QR shown on Amazon web page using the Google Authenticator app.
Step 11: Enter the OTP shown the app on the Amazon web page and click on Verify OTP and Continue.
The Google Authenticator app will be added your Two-Step Verification device for your Amazon account.
You will now receive OTPs in the Google Authenticator app for logging in to your Amazon account.
