One of the latest quests in the Pirates of the Caribbean x Fortnite crossover event is one that tasks you with delivering 99 souls to Davy Jones.
It’s a fairly monumental task, but it’s thankfully a little easier than it sounds as you don’t actually need to collect any physical items or deliver them to a specific NPC.
How to collect souls in Fortnite
To collect souls, all you need to do is eliminate other players in matches of Fortnite. They won’t drop an item for you to pick up, you’ll simply see the soul counter tick up on the quest as soon as you take down an enemy.
Better still, you don’t even need to deliver the souls to Davy Jones in person. While his NPC is located in The Underworld area, my guess is that the quest means that you need to deliver the souls to Davy Jones in the metaphorical sense. This interpretation means you’re sending your enemies to the pirate underworld that the big tentacle-faced man resides over.
For a bonus, your own soul counts towards the total 99 when you die. If you earn eight kills in a match and then die before the end, you’ll have earned nine in total!
How to complete the Davy Jones quest quickly

There are two different strategies for delivering 99 souls to Davy Jones as quickly as possible, and they’ll ultimately depend on how skilled you are at Fortnite.
If you feel comfortable with your aiming ability, I recommend dropping into hot spots on the map where plenty of other players will be landing. Find yourself a good early-game weapon and go to town. The idea here isn’t to make it to the end of the match – instead, you’re aiming to get as many eliminations as physically possible.
The other method you can turn to is to play more tactically. Land somewhere a little more secluded and play the long game, scouting out enemies from a distance and going in for the kill to catch them off-guard. This method will almost certainly take longer, as you’ll need to complete several more matches before you meet the 99 soul requirement. However, it might just be a bit more fun and may earn you a couple of Victory Royales in the process.
