How to Create a Cool Email Signature With WiseStamp

A signature is a personal statement. With the relative demise of email, signatures began to lose dashes and droop. But WiseStamp brings fun to dull emails and lets you make a social statement.

WiseStamp and its email clients allow you to customize your email signature with links to your personal social profiles. Embedded with the right set of profiles (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, blog posts, etc.), your WiseStamp signature carries your personal brand. Take a look at some WiseStamp signatures from the site’s library of examples.

Start with your email signature

So enter an email account and customize the WiseStamp email signature.

WiseStamp is available as a Firefox add-on and a Google Chrome and Safari browser extension. It works with Gmail, Google Apps, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, AOL, etc

Once installed in your favorite browser, WiseStamp will automatically start and you can start designing your signature. Creating a WiseStamp account helps you back up all your signature settings.

Open your email account and click the WiseStamp icon to bring up the application’s Preferences box (The WiseStamp application is at the top right and also on the toolbar of the compose window). This is where all the signature customizations will take place.

You can start from scratch or use some of the templates available in the example library. Just remember that without a paid upgrade, you can create up to two signatures – named Personal or Business by default.

Enter your name and other details like address, phone and fax details in the signature editor. You can use formatting tools to design your text. WiseStamp allows you to upload your photo or use any other image as a logo. The editor gives you full control and you can access the HTML source for further editing.

But the real communication power of WiseStamp lies in its collection of dynamic applications that can be incorporated into your personal information. You will find them organized in three tabs – Email Client, Social Icons, and IM Icons. These apps connect your email recipients to your online profile.

For instance, if you have your own blog, you can add an RSS feed icon (or your WordPress blog posts) and promote your latest posts.

The design tab is a bit limited as it doesn’t give you many options for background color or box style. But I think it’s best to keep it simple.
