Method of preparation:

Melt the wax by creating a double boiler, put soy wax flakes in a glass bowl, and set the bowl over a pot that is about three-quarters full of water. Stirring from time to time to heat the wax until it becomes soft and pourable. For every two cups of soy wax flakes, you will need one cup of melted wax.

Add the fragrance after allowing the wax to cool to a temperature of around 120 degrees. Once the fragrance of your choice has been added, do not heat the mixture further as this will cause the perfume to evaporate from the wax.

Place the wick in the container after a tiny amount of wax has been spooned into the center of the container’s bottom. Make sure you have enough wick at the top to hang over the end of the container and dangle the wick into the container until it reaches the wax. Once the wax has solidified, hold the wick in place. Then, pinch the top end of the wick with a clothespin and place it across the top of the container, making sure the wick is upright and in the center.

Pour the wax after smoothing out the wax with a whisk into the container. Make space at the top and if any wax remains, allow it to solidify before storing it in a container for future use.

Let the wax harden overnight till the following day. Voila, you’re done with your soy candle! Simply add some string or ribbon around the neck of your candle jar to make it look more fancy.
