How to add friends in Overwatch 2
To add friends in Overwatch 2, you need to launch the game and go to the “Social” tab.
After you have selected “Social”, click the “Add Friend” button.
Finally, enter your friend’s BattleTag (e.g. Russ#1490) and select “Send Request” to send them a friend request.

Select “Social” or select the friends icon in the top right.

On this page you will see your Battle.net friends list.

If you’re importing your friend’s BattleTag, you’ll need to include their username and tag.

How to invite friends in Overwatch 2
To invite friends in Overwatch 2, you need to use the in-game chat box.
Type “/invite BattleTag” (ex: /invite devastator#11808) to play with them.
Here’s how to invite your friends:
- Open the Battle.net client and launch Overwatch 2.
- Click the chat box.
- Type “/invite BattleTag” (ex: /invite devastator#11808).
Note: Both you and your friend need to be in the game for you to invite them.
Otherwise you will get a “Player not found” error.
A lot of players have trouble inviting their friends in Overwatch 2.
