Since 1989, Azaria has provided the voices of numerous characters in the animated sitcom The Simpsons, including Chief Wiggum, Moe Szyslak, Comic Book Guy, Snake Jailbird, and, in the past, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, Lou, Carl Carlson, and Bumblebee Man.
After joining the show as a regular in its second season, he rose to fame. He has received six Primetime Emmys, an Annie Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance.
