Since 1989, Azaria has provided the voices of numerous characters in the animated sitcom The Simpsons, including Chief Wiggum, Moe Szyslak, Comic Book Guy, Snake Jailbird, and, in the past, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, Lou, Carl Carlson, and Bumblebee Man.

After joining the show as a regular in its second season, he rose to fame. He has received six Primetime Emmys, an Annie Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance.

Additionally, Azaria is well-known for his live-action parts in motion pictures, including America’s Sweethearts (2001), Shattered Glass (2003), Along Came Polly (2004), Run Fatboy Run (2007), Quiz Show (1994), The Birdcage (1996), Grosse Pointe Blank (1997), Godzilla (1998), Mystery Men (1999), Cradle Will Rock (1999), and The Smurfs 2 (2013).

He provided the voice of The Mighty Sven in Happy Feet Two later that year. In Mack & Moxy, Azaria plays Shelfish Sheldon’s voice. In the 2016 film Bordertown, he also provides the voice of Bud Buckwald, the Texan border agent who serves as the main character.

Azaria is a Democratic Party supporter. He has admitted that if he hadn’t become an actor, he would have become a therapist and that he loves Elvis Costello’s music.
