Gene Hackman Wife: Meet Betsy Arakawa: Gene Hackman, officially known as Eugene Allen Hackman is an American retired actor and novelist born on January 30, 1930.

He developed a love for acting at a younger age and had been consistent throughout his career rising through the ranks to become one of the most sought-after actors until retirement.

Hackman kicked start his acting career in 1956 when he joined the Pasadena Playhouse in California and befriended another aspiring actor, Dustin Hoffman.

He starred in several films and movies including; The Poseidon Adventure, The Conversation, A Bridge Too Far, Hoosiers, No Way Out, Another Woman, The Firm, Get Shorty, Crimson Tide, Enemy Of The State, Antz, Absolute Power, The Royal Tenenbaums, Runaway Jury and Welcome to Mooseport.

Gene Hackman also appeared in Superman and its sequels Superman II and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace.

In a career that spanned more than six decades, Hackman won two Academy Awards, four Golden Globes, one Screen Actors Guild Award, two BAFTAs, and one Silver Bear.

His two Academy Awards include; one for Best Actor for his role in the film, The French Connection, and the other for Best Supporting Actor in the film Unforgiven.

Hackman’s other Oscar-nominated roles were in Bonnie and Clyde, I Never Sang for My Father, and Mississippi Burning.

On July 7, 2004, he disclosed in an interview that he had no future film projects lined up and believed his acting career was over. In 2008, while promoting his third novel, he confirmed that he had retired from acting

Betsy Arakawa was born on December 1, 1961, in Hawaii and is 31 years younger than her husband who was born on January 30, 1930

Like her husband, Betsy Arakawa is also involved in the arts. She is a former professional classical pianist.
