Moira Jane Harris Sinise is an American actress who was born on April 19. 1954, in Pontiac, Illinois in the United States of America. She appeared in several films and television shows. 

She has acted in movies including Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Of Mice and Men (which her husband also directed), and One More Saturday Night.

She also portrayed the villainous trucker’s wife in the Breakdown film starring Kurt Russell. She has appeared as a guest on the television programs Crime Story, The Equalizer, and Karen Sisco. She had previously been a part of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company, which Gary Sinise helped start. For her performance in Murder in Green Meadows, she was awarded a Chicago / Midwest Emmy Award in 1987.

In 1995, she also starred in Disney’s Tall Tale. Harris announced her retirement in 2003, but she made a quick comeback to performing in Steppenwolf’s production of Harold Pinter’s The Birthday Party in 2013.

For his directing of Lyle Kessler’s play Orphans in 1985, Sinise was honored with a Joseph Jefferson Award. Miles from Home, a 1988 film directed by Sinise and starring Richard Gere, tells the story of two brothers who struggle to keep their family farm from going into foreclosure.

In 1985, Sinise and the Steppenwolf Theatre Company shared a Tony Award for Regional Theatre. He has been nominated for four Tony Awards in total, including one each for his roles in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and The Grapes of Wrath.

In addition to directing and producing the movie version of John Steinbeck’s beloved book Of Mice and Men in 1992, Sinise also starred in it. Joining Sinise as George Milton was John Malkovich as Lennie.

Lieutenant Dan Taylor in Forrest Gump (1994) is one of Sinise’s latter performances; for this film, he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

In addition, he starred in the films Reindeer Games (2000), Mission to Mars (2000), Impostor (2002), Frank Darabont’s The Green Mile (1999), Ransom (1996), Snake Eyes (1998), and Apollo 13 (1995) directed by Ron Howard.

Three times, in Forrest Gump, Apollo 13, and The Green Mile, actor Sinise has worked with fellow actor Tom Hanks. He provided the voice acting for John Steinbeck’s Travels with Charley audiobooks.

Sinise debuted in Cadillac advertisements around the end of 2002, starring in the 2002–2003 Season’s Best ad. From 2002 to 2006, he was involved with the Break Through campaign.

Playing Detective Mac Taylor in the crime drama CSI: New York, Sinise debuted in 2004 in his first regular television series. He wrote an episode’s plot and was listed as a producer starting in season two.
