Fortnite’s November 9 update adds Driftboards, new weapons, map changes

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season OG might have only just begun, but a hotfix released on November 9 has already shaken things up with more unvaulted weapons and map changes to discover.

Every week during Fortnite OG, there will be an update that reflects a different season from Chapter 1. For the November 9 hotfix, it’s time for Season 6 to shine with Driftboards, Clingers, Chiller Traps, and more!

Unvaulted weapons

When you drop onto the Island after this hotfix, you’ll be able to pick up the Double Barrel Shotgun, the Six Shooter, Mounted Turrets, Clingers, Chiller Traps, and the Port-A-Fortress.

All of these weapons will be available in regular Battle Royale mode, but the Chiller Traps and Mounted Turrets won’t be available if you’re playing in Zero Build mode.

Iconic vehicles return

If the All Terrain Karts (ATKs) and Shopping Carts aren’t fast-and-furious enough for you, then you’ll be glad to hear that the November 9 update is also bringing Quadcrashers and Driftboards back to the game!

Driftboards, in particular, are a very exciting unvault this season, as they’ve not been available in Fortnite for years. Now you’ll be able to zoom around the Island in futuristic style.

Map changes

There aren’t any major map changes with this hotfix (you’ll need to wait until the next update for that), but it’s worth paying a visit to Loot Lake, where a floating island has appeared over the centre of the water.

Longtime Fortnite fans will likely remember The Cube, the mysterious purple entity that destroyed the Island back in Chapter 1. We have a feeling this is going to be a very popular landing spot with this update…

That’s everything that’s arrived with the November 9 hotfix, but keep your eyes peeled in the weeks to come as there will be even more changes on November 16 when Season 7 and Season 8 hit the Fortnite map.

Then, on November 23, another update will bring Season 9 and Season X to the game with items like the Storm Flip and the Jetpack being added to the loot pool. You’ll also be able to roll around in a Baller!
