Drew Lock is an American football quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL) who played college football at Missouri and was selected by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Drew Lock attended Lee’s Summit High School in Lee’s Summit, Missouri and as a junior, he passed for 3,060 yards and 37 touchdowns. As a senior in 2014, he was the Kansas City Star Player of the Year after passing for 2,731 yards and 28 touchdowns.
Drew Lock was rated a four-star recruit by Rivals and was rated the sixth-best pro-style quarterback in the 2015 class. He has committed to play college football at the University of Missouri and was considered a two-star shooting basketball prospect, but retired from basketball after graduating from high school.

During the 2017 season, Drew Lock led the NCAA (FBS) and set an SEC and Missouri record for passing touchdowns (44) while helping the Tigers reach a bowl game after starting the season 1 -5. Drew Lock has helped Missouri get off to a 3-0 start with 11 touchdowns and an interception in games against UT Martin, Wyoming and Purdue. On October 20, against Memphis, he passed for 350 yards and four touchdowns in the win. Missouri closed the regular season with a four-game winning streak against Florida, Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Arkansas, where Drew Lock threw nine touchdowns and two interceptions while throwing for three rushing touchdowns.
During the 2018 season, Drew Lock totaled 3,498 passing yards, 28 passing touchdowns, and eight interceptions, along with six rushing touchdowns. He led the SEC in passing yards and completions during the 2018 season and finished his college football career with 108 total touchdowns (99 passing, 9 rushing next).

Lock suffered a thumb injury during the preseason and was placed on injured reserve on September 1 2019. He was designated to return from injured reserve on November 12, 2019 and returned to practice with ‘the team’.
On November 30, 2019, the Broncos activated the Drew Lock on injured reserve and named him the starter for their game the next day against the Los Angeles Chargers. He threw for 134 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, and he moved the Broncos down the field in the final 15 seconds (via a pass interference penalty by the Chargers’ Casey Heyward Jr.) to set up Brandon McManus from 53 yards out field goal as time expired, giving the Broncos a 23–20 victory, his first NFL victory.

Drew Lock spent the 2021 preseason competing with newly acquired quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. On August 25, Bridgewater was named the starter for Week 1 over Drew Lock, after close battles in the first and second preseason games. Against the Kansas City Chiefs, Drew Lock completed 12-of-24 passes (50%) for 162 yards, rushed for 35 yards and rushed for two touchdowns, becoming the Broncos’ first quarterback rushing for two touchdowns since Tim Tebow in 2011 in rounds 28-24 loss.
On March 16, 2022, Drew Lock was traded to the Seattle Seahawks along with two first-round picks, two second-round picks, a fifth-round pick, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, and tight end tight end Noah Fant in exchange for quarterback-defensive back Russell Wilson.
Upon arriving in Seattle, Drew Lock changed his jersey number from the number 3 he had worn at Denver and Missouri to number 2, telling reporters that he did so both out of respect for Wilson, who wearing shirt number 2.3, and unexpected to “write my own story”. After feuding with Geno Smith in three preseason games, Smith was named the starter, relegating Drew Lock to a reserve role for the regular season.
He never took the field during his first season in Seattle because Smith captured every moment. Drew Lock re-signed with the Seahawks on March 20, 2023. Replacing the injured Smith, Drew Lock took the helm on October 2 and led the Seahawks on a 75-yard drive that resulted in a touchdown.
