Dolph Ziggler career

Ziggler signed a developmental deal with WWE in 2004 and was assigned to Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), where he competed under his real name, following a successful career in amateur wrestling during which he set numerous school records for Kent State University.

Shortly after, in 2005, he was elevated to WWE’s Raw brand, w here he acted as Kerwin White’s sidekick caddy.

Shortly after, he was sent back to OVW, where he adopted the moniker Nicky and joined the Spirit Squad, a cheerleading-themed team that made its RAW debut in January 2006 and won the World Tag Team Championship once before being sent back to OVW in November of that same year.

Ziggler was given a contract with Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) in September 2007. There, he teamed up with Brad Allen and then Gavin Spears to win the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship twice.

In September 2008, Ziggler made a comeback to the main roster and was given the new name Dolph Ziggler. He’s held the World Heavyweight Championship twice, the NXT Championship once, the Intercontinental Championship six times, the United States Championship twice, the Raw Tag Team Championship twice, and the SmackDown Tag Team Championship once since that time.

Ziggler has held 15 belts in the WWE overall. He also won the 2012 Money in the Bank match, was the lone survivor of two Survivor Series elimination bouts, and has headlined numerous WWE pay-per-view events. On September 21, 2023, Nemeth left WWE, capping a career spanning 19 years.
