The Doggystyle hit maker Snoop Dogg was born on October 20, 1971, in Long Beach California in the United States of America to Beverly Tate and Vernell Varnado, a former military man, singer, and mail carrier. His dad left him and his family when he was only three months old. Because of this, Snoop was named after the man who married his mom next that’s his stepfather, Calvin Cordozar Broadus Sr. Unfortunately, Calvin Snr’s marriage with Beverly lasted for only a short time after the two divorced in 1975 when they went their separate ways.
Snoop in sixth grade started exhibiting his talent as a rapper making his friends enjoy his good raps. He had his high school education at Long Beach Polytechnic High School where he graduated in 1989. He joined the record label Death Row Records where rapper Dr. Dre was a producer. He worked with Dr. Dre and got featured on his debut solo single Deep Cover as well as on his debut solo album The Chronic. This paved the way for him to have huge success when he also released his debut album Doggystyle because he had already been exposed to the spotlight for featuring in Dr. Dre’s music.
