Narendra Singh was born on June 30, 1971, to Maharaja Hermant Singh, the last ruler of Dholpur Maharani Vasundhara Raje, the chief minister of Rajasthan and the senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP).

Diya Kumari career

Bhawani Singh, the late father of Kumari and the erstwhile titular king of Jaipur ran for parliament from Jaipur in the 1989 Lok Sabha elections on a Congress ticket but lost to the BJP candidate.

Gayatri Devi, the stepgrandmother of Kumari and a former Jaipur queen, was elected three times as a Member of Parliament from the Jaipur constituency in 1962, 1967, and 1971. Riding the Swatantra Party banner, she had won these polls with unprecedented margins.

On September 10, 2013, Kumari became a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party in front of two lakh supporters during a Jaipur event. Those in attendance included former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, BJP President Rajnath Singh, and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

She ran as a BJP candidate from Sawai Madhopur in the 2013 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election and won the position of MLA.

She did not, however, run in the 2018 elections, which the BJP ultimately lost. She was chosen to represent Rajsamand as a member of the Lok Sabha in 2019.

She received 8.58 lakh votes, and her 5.51 lakh vote victory margin is in the top 20 largest margins of victory for 2019.

She was named a Brand Ambassador by the Rajasthani government for Save the Girl Child. In the Rajasthan elections of 2023, Kumari will represent the BJP in the Vidhyadhar Nagar constituency in lieu of incumbent five-term MLA Narpat Singh Rajvi.

She has been working in Bhajan Lal Sharma’s ministry as Rajasthan’s deputy chief minister since December 12, 2023.
