happens from my android. While performing an update from a mobile device, the possibility of errors increases due to the smaller keyboard and autocorrect features.
In the past, whenever I made a mistake when updating my status, I had to log in with my laptop to remove that update. But yesterday, I stumbled across the (almost) invisible delete button in the Facebook for Android app that allows me to delete status updates right from the mobile interface.
I don’t know how long this feature has been around, but it has the potential to save you embarrassment. So let’s see how you can remove Facebook status updates directly from Android.
Delete Facebook status on Android
On Facebook for Android, you can hide updates from your timeline or delete them altogether. To remove a status update from Android, place it on your news feed first. Most of us would long-press on an update to find the delete option, but that’s not the case here. Swipe your thumb from left to right on the status update you want to delete to discover the small Delete button on the status. Just press the button to remove the update.
Editor’s Note: The above trick also works if you want to remove the comment on your status update, or maybe delete your own comment on your or someone else’s status.
If you don’t want to remove the status update but just want to hide it from the timeline, you’ll have to swipe on the update in the timeline view. After swiping in the timeline view, you’ll see Hide from timeline optionally with Delete post select.
This trick also works for Facebook’s touch site on mobile browsers including iPhone. So from this point on, there is no need to run to the computer to remove the Facebook update. You can take care of it from your smartphone.
