Who are Chris Kaba’s parents?

The event leading to the demise of Kaba was tragic and gruesome given the fact that he was shot by an officer of the law. Kaba was driving an Audi Q8, not registered to him, which was followed by an unmarked police car occupied by armed officers.
Through automatic number-plate recognition, authorities thought they had connected the Audi to a “firearms incident” from the previous day. The police vehicle that was following did not turn on its lights or siren.
Kaba turned left from New Park Road towards Kirkstall Gardens at about 10.07 p.m. On this road was a marked armed response vehicle.
Witnesses reported that police cars had surrounded the Audi and that Kaba had repeatedly been told to exit the automobile while trying to ram the Audi through the blockade.
Armed police officers got out of their cars and started to walk toward the Audi. The IOPC claims that Kaba was hit by a single bullet fired by a police officer through the windscreen of the vehicle.
He was brought to a local hospital, where shortly after midnight the following day he passed away from his wounds. No non-police guns were discovered at the site or in the car, according to the IOPC. Kaba’s family demanded a homicide investigation into his death and details on the presence of any weapons.
Prosecution of Chris Kaba’s killer
A Met officer was to be charged with murder in connection with the killing, the Crown Prosecution Service stated on September 20, 2023.
On September 21, in the morning at Westminster Magistrates’ Court and in the afternoon at the Old Bailey, the police officer “NX121” made an appearance.
He was given bail with the requirements that he “lives at a named address, surrenders his passport, and does not apply for international travel documents”.
The trial’s tentative start date has been scheduled for September 9, 2024; a plea and trial preparation hearing will take place on December 1, 2023.
