Area 99 Resurgence map overview & POIs

Warzone is set to get a new map for its Resurgence mode with the launch of Black Ops 6 called Area 99. Based on the iconic Nuketown map with retro futuristic visuals, it’s a fast-paced and dense place to fight.

Here is our overview of the map and its points of interest.

Area 99 explained

Area 99 is a focused and compact Resurgence map with a similar size to Rebirth Island. It features a number of Nuketown inspired locations, with a retrofuture aesthetic, and plenty of rundown colours.

The map is a giant central POI surrounded by roadways and other POIs of varying sizes.

Mannequin Assembly

On the northern side of the map is the Mannequin Assembly plant, which is a sizeable complex strewn with mannequin parts and rusted machines.

The inside is a dilapidated maze made up of a large assembly chamber, conveyor belts, an operational hyradaulic press, and multiple floors.

Test Site and Bunker

Test Site is an area made up of various wooden huts, broken-down buses, containers, and a long trench on the north-west side of the map.

Next to it, you can find a bunker with a viewing station and a war room below the sands. Heading down into the bunker takes you to various open tunnels, along with computer rooms and an armoury.

Reactor and Cooling Towers

The centre of the map is the Reactor with its towers nearby. The Reactor is made up of a central dome building, with curved buildings around it to form a circle. There are ascenders and a gantry leading inside and out of the tower, making it one of the more vertical areas in Area 99.

The Cooling Towers are part of a smaller, rectangular building just north with pipes covering the sides and top of the building, with some even making for great walkways to the Reactor. There are plenty of rooms inside for some CQC and opportunities to lose enemies in a chase.

Factory Warehouse and Manufacturing

This is a constriction zone to the south of the map with all the elements to create Nuketown in its totality. It’s a mix of wide open spaces and densely, packed hallways with cover, and some skylights above that are useful for preying on those below.

The Manufacturing part is similar, with more verticality due to the walksways inside, which are perfect for parkouring or creeping around, depending on the situation.

Loading Bay

Loading Bay is a more open area next to the roadside, with some large warehouse buildings, and a crane suspending a replica of the yellow Nuketown house, that is perfect for sniping if you can get up there unharmed.

Nuketown Shipping

On the eastern edges of the map are a series of rundown, half-buried buildings on a sandy hill, with a large wall on the upper side. It’s a good place for those skulking around and hiding from the main areas of fighting.

Pods
